How to clean cast iron cookware

Clean it Regularly

Cleaning cast iron after ach use is ideal to prevent rust and maintain a nonstick coating. Because cast iron tends to absorb flavors easily, it also helps ensure that the next dish you make won't taste like the one prior.

Some people choose to completely avoid using soaps and abrasive sponges toclean their cast iron out of fear it will damage the nonstick seasoning, which is not the right approach but it is recommended to wash cast iron by hand instead of using a dishwasher.

Another easier option without dish soap is to use a bit of salt which provides just enough abrasion to remove any residue and leftovers without damaging the nonstick layer.

Steps to Clean

Please follow the simple steps to clean the cast iron so it lasts Generations

1. Once Cooking / Serving is done wait a little while so the temperature drops andbecomes comfortable to touch.

2. Remove any left-over food content. Use an old lint free cloth or paper towel to clean.

3. Use salt or mild soap with warm water to clean the cookware.

4. Dry it with a lint free cloth or paper towel.

5. Warm it a little on stove to make it completely dry.

6. Drop 1 Tablespoon of Canola oil (preferably) and use a paper towel to scrub itall around the cookware.

7. Store in a dry place.

How to season cast iron cookware

Cast lron Seasoning

"Seasoning" cast iron protects the cookware from rust and creates a natural non-stick surface. Process works by coating cast iron in cooking oil and heating it up past the smoke point until the fat polymerizes. When fat polymerizes, it turns from liquid into a slick, hard solid that the porous iron cookware absorbs creating a nonstick surface.

Virtually any type of cooking oil can be used to season cast iron but keep in mind that oils with strong flavors, like avocado or sesame seed oil, may subsequently flavor your cookware and the foods you prepare in it. Many people like to use a basic vegetable or canola oil because they're affordable, easy to find, and have a neutral flavor profile. Whichever oil you use, be sure to heat your pan past the oil's smoke point so polymerization occurs.

Seasoning Steps

Please follow the simple steps to Season the cast iron so it lasts for generations. Maintain your cast iron cookware with regular cleaning process and season the Cast lron Cookware / Serve-ware about twice a year.

1. Wash and scrub the Cast lron Product with Salt or mild Soap.

2. Once Clean dry it with Lint free cloth or Paper Towel.

3. Rub a light coat of oil about 1 table spoon (too much oil will create a sticky pan) over the entire surface, including the top and bottom, inside and outside, and any handles.

4. Place in a pre-heated (250°C) baking oven for about 30 minutes.

5. Remember to place it upside down so excess oil can drip. It's usually a good idea to put a baking pan on a lower rack of the oven to catch any oil that might drop off.

6. Repeat oiling and baking process 2 or 3 times to get a natural non-stick layer.
